Historic Greenville Theatre

Greenville, NC

Historic Greenville Theatre: Welcome

Redevelopment of the historic State Theatre in Uptown Greenville was another successful CommunitySmith public-private partnership triangulating with the Lincoln Theatre of Raleigh, and the City of Greenville. The theater, first constructed in 1914, has seen generations of Greenville residents laugh, cry, and be moved by live theater and other performing arts.  CommunitySmith's goal was to make this historic venue better than ever for current residents, especially after its closure in the 1990s.

The State Theatre now operates as a flexible performance theater capable of hosting concerts, private events, and other public uses and with a capacity of over 900. On days when an event isn't scheduled, the building will be open for private rentals, making it perfect for churches, civic groups, and weddings.   CommunitySmith is proud of its' role  breathing new life into another monument of Greenville's past, as well as the incredibly positive impact that the new business will have on area businesses and property valuations.
